Drive-Alert Detection Systems
Trust in the most reliable systems on the market!
DRIVE-ALERTS have been the security industry’s most popular vehicle detection systems for over 45 years, and are manufactured in the U.S.A. by the pioneer in vehicle detection technology… Mier Products, Inc.
These multi-purpose, solid-state, electronic alarm systems are designed for use anywhere knowledge of vehicle movement, or tampering with assets, is desired. Drive-Alerts use sensors to detect changes in the magnetic field. They do not use an IR or beam, so they DO NOT have the problems common to such sensors, such as false alarms being triggered by animals, insects, fog or rain.
HOMES
Know when someone enters the driveway or moves a vehicle.
BUSINESSES AND DRIVE-UP WINDOWS
Detect traffic at drive-up windows or shipping docks.
BUILDING AND ASSET PROTECTION AT FARMS, CONSTRUCTION SITES, GATES AND MORE

Features of the Drive-Alert systems, and choosing the perfect system for your needs
What can these affordable and reliable systems do for you?
1) Sensors are placed in an area, or areas, you want to monitor to detect approaching vehicles or the movement of equipment, gates, trailers, tractors, etc.
2) An audible chime alert is triggered in the Control Panel located in your home, shop or business up to 1000 feet away from the sensor(s), or you can increase this distance up to 8/10 of a mile by adding a DA-660 Long-Range Reception Booster Antenna accessory.
3) Add accessory remote chimes in more areas such as upstairs, the basement, back yard, by the pool, in a separate shop or building, etc. whenever a Drive-Alert sensor detects something.
4) Use one of the included Timer Relays to trigger our accessory light kit to turn on indoor and/or outdoor lights to welcome friends or warn strangers when the Drive-Alert is activated.
5) Use another included Timer Relay to trigger an existing alarm panel, or video surveillance, when the Drive-Alert sensor detects vehicle or asset movement.
6) Activate signs, gates, or other equipment using the included additional contacts.
7) Add a DA-REPEATER accessory to send the alert an additional 1000 feet away to remote buildings, shops, other areas of a warehouse, etc., and increase that range up to 8/10 of a mile when using the DA-600 Long-Range Reception Booster Antenna accessory along with that DA-REPEATER and Drive-Alert system.
Answer these 4 easy questions to choose the Drive-Alert that best fits your application!
Question 1: Do you want a wireless system or a traditional buried-sensor system?
The DA-500 is our original “Buried Sensor” system. The DA-100 and DA-700 are our “Wireless” systems. NOTE: For Drive-Up Window installations, Mier recommends a DA-100CP and DA-610TO if you want to go wireless, or a DA-500 if you want a wired system. See the descriptions of all these models listed below.
Question 2: Do you need a long-range system?
DA-500s, come with 100’ of buried-cable, but if you need longer lengths of cable then order a DA-500CP control panel with a DA-051-???, where you fill in the amount of cable needed up to 2500’ (example: DA-500CP + DA-051-300).
DA-100s and DA-700s have a standard range of 500’ if the transmitter is on the ground and up to 1000’ if the transmitter is on a post at 3 feet high. If you need more distance, then order a DA-660 Long-Range Reception Booster Antenna extending range up to 8/10-mile. You may also consider our DA-REPEATER which attaches to our control panels, and repeats the alert signal an additional 1000’ to other buildings or areas, or up to 8/10-mile if also using a DA-660 Antenna.
Question 3: Do you want accessory chimes or lights?
If so, you want a DA-500 or a DA-700 which both include sets of contacts to attach accessories, fire panels, cameras, etc. The DA-100 does not have these contacts.
Hard-wired chimes: DA-655 or DA-052V
Signal Repeater: DA-REPEATER with DA-100CP Chimes up to 1000 feet away, or up to 8/10-mile if using the DA-660.
Hard-wired lights: Install directly into the DA-500 or DA-700 Timer Relay contacts included
Wireless lights: DA-606LK or DA-606LK2 installed directly into the DA-500 or DA-700 Timer Relay contacts included
And many more (see Accessories below)
Question 4: If you choose a wireless system: Can you put the standard DA-610TO Sensor/Transmitter, ABOVE ground and RIGHT NEXT to the drive?
If so then order the standard DA-100-610 or DA-700. If you cannot, then you need a system that includes the DA-611TO Sensor/Transmitter. In this case you should order a DA-100 or a DA-700-611. See the Sensor Options below to learn more.
The DA-500, GEN2, Drive-Alert Vehicle Detection System now includes a control panel with an internal alert whistle chime with volume control and choice of three chime tones, two built in timer relays, both 12VDC and 24VDC contacts for additional accessories, Zoning to provide two different chimes for two different areas monitored with different sensors, a “system mute” feature, one sensor, and 100 feet of cable.
See our “Options and Accessories” below for longer lengths of cable and other features which can easily be added. Popular accessories include adding additional remote chimes and lights.
See the “Wireless Systems” directly below if you are interested in wireless vehicle detection systems.
The DA-500 has a sensor which monitors a 10-foot radius (20′ diameter) to detect disturbances in the magnetic field caused by vehicle traffic in driveways, farm lanes, intersections and any areas where knowledge of movement is desired. Up to three An additional sensors may be added to a DA-500. The DA-500 sensor is not a PIR or “beam” sensor. Thus, the DA-500 does not have the false alarms common to that type of sensor; such as being triggered by animals, fog, weather, etc…
Homes
A residential installation allows the homeowner to know when someone enters the driveway or moves a vehicle or equipment. This is accomplished by a buried sensor which detects moving metal objects such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, or bikes. Then the sensor sends a signal to the control panel which sounds an electronic whistle alert.
Businesses and Drive-Up Windows
National pharmacy chains, restaurants, banks, and other businesses across the country utilize the Drive-Alert to detect because it provides a pleasant tone with volume control. See more in the “accessories” section below. See the “Drive-Up Window Installation Examples” show above to choose from a hard-wired DA-500 system, or a wireless DA-100 system, which are both perfect for drive-up window installations.
Activation of Other Systems
The DA-500 Control Panel has 12VDC and 24VDC dry contacts, and timer relays, that can be used to activate gates, DVRs, external bells, lights, strobes, sirens, etc. whenever the DA-500 detects vehicles or a disturbance in the magnetic field around the sensor(s)
Asset Protection for Farms, Construction Sites, etc.
Placing the sensor next to objects such as campers, tractors, trailers, gasoline tanks, etc. allows you to detect any movement of those objects, aiding in the prevention of theft and vandalism.

DA-100 Wireless Drive-Alert
Simple, Reliable and Easily Installed Wireless System!
The wireless DA-100 Drive-Alert Vehicle Detection System includes a control panel with an internal alert chime with volume control and a DA-611TO Sensor/Transmitter. This is the perfect wireless system for someone who wants an economical and reliable wireless system, and only needs an audible chime alert. The DA-100-610 includes a DA-610TO instead of the DA-611TO for those installations that require a different sensor/transmitter.
The DA-100 control panel is also a perfect wireless accessory for people who already use a DA-100, or a DA-500 or DA-700 with a DA-REPEATER and would like an additional alert (chime with volume control) in another building or location.
These wireless systems have a sensor/transmitter which monitors a 12-foot radius (24’ diameter) to detect disturbances in the magnetic field caused by vehicle traffic in driveways, farm lanes, intersections and any areas where knowledge of vehicle movement is desired. Unlimited sensors may be added. The sensors are not a PIR or “beam” sensor. Thus, they do not have the false alarms common to IR sensors; such as being triggered by animals, fog, weather, etc.
TECH SUPPORT FOR OLDER MODELS: Generation 1 DA-500, DA-600, and DA-605P Wireless Systems

Options and Sensors
DA-051 sensor with cable length of your choice
If you intend on ordering a DA-500, but need more than the standard 100′ of direct-burial cable, then order a DA-500CP which is the DA-500 control-panel, AND ALSO order the DA-051-_ _ _.
The DA-051 is the sensor, and then you fill in the spaces with the length of cable you will need (in feet) from 10′ up to a maximum of 2500′. An example would be a DA-051-200 would be a sensor with a 200 feet of cable.
Wireless DA-660 Long-Range Receiving Antenna
If you intend on ordering a DA-100 or DA-700 wireless Drive-Alert, but need more than the standard 1000′ range, then order a DA-660 Reception Booster Antenna which increases the range of these systems up to 8/10-mile!
Wireless DA-REPEATER Alert-Signal Repeating Device with 1000-ft. Range
This Drive-Alert Signal Repeater can be attached to any DA-500 or DA-700 Drive-Alert Control Panel/Receiver. It will repeat the alert signal to other wireless Control Panel/Receivers (DA-100CP or DA-700CP) up to an additional 1000 feet away. If a site has multiple buildings and/or locations where an alert is desired, adding a DA-REPEATER to a DA-700 Control Panel/Receiver, and then adding DA-100CP Chimes with Volume Control (shown below) is the perfect answer! Once again, you can also attach a DA-660 Antenna (shown above) to increase that range up to 8/10-mile.
Wireless DA-610TO Transmitter with Internal Sensor (for use with models DA-100 and DA-700)
Unlimited sensors may be used with the new wireless series of Drive-Alerts to monitor several areas. The sensor is encased in a durable outdoor metal enclosure. They monitor a 14-foot radius (28′ diameter). These sensors require two AA Lithium batteries which will last two years under normal usage. These sensors may be placed up to 1000 feet from the control panel, and up to 8/10-mile when used with a DA-660 booster antenna. The sensors are tamper resistant due to the fact that if anyone touches or moves one, the alert will be triggered.
Wireless DA-611TO Transmitter with External Sensor and 50-feet of cable (for use with models DA-100 and DA-700)
This option is used when you cannot place the standard DA-610TO Sensor/Transmitter right next to the driveway. The DA-611TO allows you to bury the sensor right next to, or under, the drive and then place the transmitter up to 50′ away under some landscaping or up a tree or pole (this also helps increase transmission reception). If you want this option, order a DA-100 or DA-700-611.
Wireless DA-612TO Transmitter with Two External Sensors and Cable
This is the same as the DA-611TO above but with two external sensors instead of one.
Accessories – Chimes
DA-655 Hard-Wired Chime with Volume Control (for use with models DA-500 and DA-700)
The DA-655 is ideal when a customer wants additional chimes, but does not want wireless. The DA-655 will be hardwired to the control panel of the DA-500 or DA-700, and it emits a pleasant chime when a vehicle is detected. There is also a volume control knob, and this unit can be turned up to a high level. It also includes a choice of chime tones, just like the chimes built into the DA-500 GEN2, the DA-100 and the DA-700. The DA-655 works in a 9VDC to 30VDC range.
To add additional wireless chimes to a DA-500 or a DA-700, use the DA-REPEATER and the DA-100CPs mentioned above in Options.
Accessories – Lights
DA-505 and DA-505W Hard-Wired Light Timer Control
Timer Control Relays are already built into the Second-Generation DA-500 and the DA-700. For older Gen 1 DA-500s, you can use a DA-505 or a DA-505W to turn on 10 amps of lights, sirens or bells. The DA-505 unit simply plugs into a 120 VAC outlet and contains its own receptacle to provide power to lights or alarms. The DA-505W is a “stand alone” unit that gets its power from the Drive-Alert, and provides a N.O., timed, dry contact to switch a load (lights, contactors, bells, etc) rated at 10 amps, 120 volts AC. The DA-505W is a terrific intermediate interface with a “healthy” large relay within, that may be used to control other functions such as triggering a large commercial lighting contactor, billboards, holiday lights, etc. The alarm or lights triggered by either of these units can be adjusted to operate from 1 to 45 minutes. Both may be used with all models. Please call our technical support team for information.
DA-606LK Wireless Lights with Timer Control (for use with DA-500 and DA-700)
This accessory comes with a DA-606 Timer Control which allows you to turn the lights on from 1 minute to 60 minutes. In addition to the standard audible alert in Drive-Alerts, the DA-606LK accessory will also wirelessly activate lights up to 100′ away! Alerts occur whenever a vehicle is detected, or whenever a Drive-Alert sensor is moved for asset protection.
Additional DA-071 Light Switches and DA-072 Lamp Modules may be purchased.
DA-071 Wireless Light Switch (for use with the DA-500 and DA-700 and must be paired with the DA-606 shown above)
DA-071 Light Switch activates the lights controlled by that switch and also works as a normal light switch.
DA-072 Wireless Lamp Module (for use with the DA-500 and DA-700 and must be paired with the DA-606 shown above)
DA-072 Lamp Module activates a lamp and also allows the lamp to work normally.
DA-073 Wireless Heavy-Duty Wall Outlet (for use with the DA-500 and DA-700 and must be paired with the DA-606 shown above)
DA-073 Outlet includes a top receptacle that controls up to a maximum of 1500 watts or maximum 15-amp current draw.
